This is a book cover design for a newly-released young adult novel. The concept was based around the novel's fantasy setting and mystery plot. Featured on the hand-drawn cover is the silhouette of the story’s main character, who is seen wielding a key story element: magic.

With input from the author, we determined a color story that was deep and moody, with bursts of bright, electric green as it is important in the story. A custom series title font is also displayed. Ethan Moon tells the tale of a teen discovering magic, who must strive to reclaim his identity and face a looming darkness. The imposing kingdom in the distance, along with the isolation of the character standing at the edge of the forest, emphasizes this concept.
